Ennis Carter Recognized as One of 50 Best Women in Business by PA Governor Rendell
In 2006, Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell and five Pennsylvania business journals honored Design for Social Impact founder & director Ennis Carter with the 11th Annual Best 50 Women in Business Award.

STEP Magazine Features Design for Social Impact
STEP Inside Design, one of the nation's leading graphic design magazines, features Design for Social Impact in their September/October issue. Lauding DFSI and two other firms for our "uncommon vision," the article includes a full page spread of our "We Believe" artwork.

Discussing Design for Social Impact growth into a national progressive leader , the article notes

"[Founder Ennis Carter's] secret weapon...her knowledge of the nonprofit world to mount successful campaigns. [Carter] also runs the company at cost, which allows the firm to offer professional design services at roughly half the price of a traditional firm."

"People have to be moved personally by issues or other people's stories before they get involved," Ennis says in the article. "We inspire people through affirmation, beauty and hope."

Web Design Work Wins Award
www.servicevote.org, a Design for Social Impact web project for Youth Service America, was honored as a featured nonprofit on Web White and Blue, a nonpartisan consortium of 17 of the largest internet sites and news organizations in the country. Webwhiteblue.org recognizes groups for utilizing the internet to expand citizen participation in our democracy.

Almost Famous!
The MTV generation gets a look at Design for Social Impact
Two popular television programs turned to Design for Social Impact to create a socially meaningful but real-life school environment.

The WB’s Dawson’s Creek featured our "Imagine the Impact: Vote" poster for Youth Service America, while MTV’s Undressed featured our "Sperm/Breast" poster, created for Campus Green Vote’s 1998 voter registration campaign.

On screen, Spike Lee featured the "Health Action AIDS" poster designed for Physicians for Human Rights as a backdrop for his movie She Hate Me.

Fox Television profiled our transportation choice (twice!)—a 70 mpg electric/gas hybrid Honda Insight. The car, purchased in 2000, was the first of its kind on the streets of Philadelphia. Now Kris has one too!
